Tess Castellano is petite. She has honey-colored eyes that gleam golden at dawn or in the evening by candlelight. Her open and frivolous laughter caused premature wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. Few men can resist her unbridled sensuality.
Jorge Sanchez, of medium height and Latin good looks, is brilliant and determined. From the slums of Harlem, he rises quickly in the corporate world of New York and earns the respect of his coworkers and superiors. He and Tess meet at the Manhattan headquarters of Worldwide Industries Corporation.
Will their tumultuous love affair endure the hazards of their diverse characters? Will he be able to shed the memories of poverty and ignorance of his youth? Can Tess curb her insatiable lust for life? Jorge loves her free spirit, which sometimes overwhelmes him, and in his dark and gloomy moods he asks her, "Tess, what do you see in me?"
This is the story of passion and tribulations between two young people, trying to overcome their differences. Set primarily in NewYork City, the story of Tess and Jorge culminates in the rugged wilderness of the South American Andes.

Sample Text from When Love is not Enough

"You never told me that. See, I know nothing about you, except your… your indiscriminate sex life."
"Well, now that you brought that up again, you might as well add this to your hate-me list." She took a deep breath. "I married a boy at seventeen, had an abortion and the marriage was annulled. So there. That's why I never finished high school. Satisfied?"
I am not suprised. I am not in the least surprised. What offends me is that you haven't told me this before, and the way you are telling me now. What are you thinking? You have any more surprises? Any more skeletons in your closet?"
"Jorge, this is exactly why I did not tell you. Your reaction. And no, there are no more skeletons in my closet." She raised her voice. "And if there were, I wouldn't tell you because you couldn't handle it."
